ELF RACE FUELS AUSTRALIA - OFFICIAL METHANOL FUEL SUPPLIER TO 2005 LEXMARK INDY 300

When the Champ Car World Series heads down under for the Lexmark Indy 300 on October 20-23, Elf Race Fuels Australia will play a pivotal part.

Elf Race Fuels Australia and Elf Motorsport Fuel & Lubricants Queensland are pleased to announce they will be combining to serve as the official supplier of methanol race fuel to the 2005 Lexmark Indy 300.

“We are delighted to confirm our involvement in the 2005 Lexmark Indy 300 and excited by the prospect of supplying methanol to be used by Champ Cars at the event,” said Phil Mutton, Director, Elf Race Fuels Queensland.

With Elf Race Fuels Australia emerging successful from the tender process to supply methanol to the event, Elf premium racing methanol will power the 750hp Champ Cars when they take to the streets of Surfers Paradise.

“Throughout the tender process, we have demonstrated that Elf’s latest premium quality methanol will be more than up to the task. Our on-track records and independent testing shows that Elf build a high quality, premium racing methanol which has impressed Champ Car in the testing they have conducted.”

It is a role Elf Race Fuels Australia has previously successfully filled, and one which Mutton hopes see to continue well into the future.

“To the event organisers, Elf Race Fuels Australia is a known quantity. We have experience in supplying methanol to the event and others like it in the past and we hope to build a mutually beneficial long term relationship,” he said.

In Australia, Elf’s range of racefuels are relied upon throughout all levels of motorsport, on two and four wheels, ranging from serving as control fuel suppliers in championships such as the Globalstar Australian Rally Championship and the Kumho Tyres Australian Formula 3 Championship to distributing fuel to individual competitors at club level events.

- Specially developed for methanol powered racing, such as Champ Car

- 2.65ltr, turbo V8 engine
- 41.5inches of boost (44inches when ‘Push to Pass’ is engaged)
- Approx 750HP (800HP when ‘Push to Pass’ is engaged)
- Minimum weight of 710kg
- Average lap speed around 170km/hr on Surfers Paradise layout
